OPEN-LEVEL FACULTY POSITIONS IN EXPERIMENTAL NANOSCALE
ELECTRONIC MATERIALS AND DEVICE PHYSICS
Department of Physics and Astronomy
University of California, Riverside
Applications are invited from scientists with outstanding credentials in the area of experimental nanoscale electronic materials and device physics for an open-level tenure-track faculty position. Appointment will be made at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank.
The appointment will continue a major initiative in nanotechnology at UCR under the direction of Professor Robert C. Haddon, Director of the Center for Nanoscale Science and Engineering. This advertised position is the fifth of a total of five committed positions within the Physics and Astronomy Department in experimental nanoscale condensed matter physics. A total of five faculty positions in related engineering departments are also committed as part of the initiative. The Center is in the process of developing outstanding facilities for research, development, and manufacturing of nanoscale electronic materials and devices. A clean room and nanofabrication center, as well as a new Physical Sciences Building and a new Engineering Building, were completed in 2005. Construction will soon commence on a Materials Science and Engineering Building to open in 2009.
Successful candidates will conduct vigorous research programs in condensed matter, materials physics, or device physics of nanoscale systems. Applications are encouraged from candidates with Ph.D. degrees in Physics and exceptional research records in the areas of spintronics, nanoelectronics, nanophotonics or related fields. Candidates are also expected to support the training of graduate students and teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a statement of research and teaching objectives, and the names and contact information for four referees. Please arrange for these four referees to send their letter of recommendation directly to the address below.
Applications should be directed to:
